Executive Director

Robert J. Filewich, Ph.D., A.B.M.P., is an experienced psychologist who has been the director of The Center for Behavior Therapy in White Plains, NY, for over 25 years. He is a licensed clinical psychologist in New York State and is Board Certified in Medical Psychotherapy. Dr. Filewich received his doctoral degree in 1976 from the University of Mississippi and subsequently interned at The Rockefeller University in NYC. He has extensive experience in treating adults, adolescents, children, families, and couples in Westchester since 1981.

Dr. Filewich’s specialty areas include: Depression, Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Social Skills and Self-Esteem Training, Couples/ Marital Therapy, Sexual Counseling, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy.

He is a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), the American Psychological Association (APA), the New York State Psychological Association, and the Westchester County Psychological Association.

Child and Adolescent Director

Sarah Rubin, Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist and Director of The Center’s Child and Adolescent Services. Dr. Rubin provides individual Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), parenting strategies strong support, and school consultative services to achieve a positive outcome for your child socially, emotionally and educationally. She received her doctoral degree from Pace University: School-Clinical program, and specializes in: anxiety, depression, ADD, ADHD, learning disabilities,sexual identity, autistic spectrum disorders,soscial skills training, bereavement, parenting-skills training, children of divorce, family and step-family counseling, school refusal, anger, and shyness.

Having over 20 years of experience in the field of clinical and child psychology, Dr. Rubin places great value establishing a warm and collaborative relationship with both the children and parents with which she works. Dr. Rubin is also a School Psychologist for the past 16 years at the Todd Elementary School in Briarcliff Manor, NY. At the school, she is an integral part of the Committee on Special Education (CSE) and RTIT (Response To InterventionTeam). She is a member of BOCES, the Westchester County Psychological Association, and the American Psychological Association.
